‘Light Wall’ was created for the waiting area inside Yeovil and District Hospital, drawing inspiration from the healing element of coloured light. Slow moving colour sequences create a calming space, using an opaque glass screen colour-washed by LED lights to separate the seated area from reception.
The translucent effect of the intense colours creates an illusion of depth, inviting the viewer into a physical experience of light and its ability to transform the way we feel. Colour has a marked influence on our moods and feelings, as it can affect the balance or imbalance of hormones in our bodies. With this in mind, the I have chose calming, soothing and uplifting colours blues, green’s and magenta’s for this space.
