In Sheffield Circle has created both a logo and identity for a new Voluntary Action Centre. The concentric circle design of the light sculpture indicates the multipurpose nature of the Centre - with each separate section of the piece indicating diverse groups operating within different areas of the building, yet also united by their presence within the same space.
The startling design dominates the eye of the passer by with twenty different sequences, which run in a continuous loop and pulsate, surge and fade through a flow of different colours from neon blues and greens to vivid reds and purples. The circular design also breaks up the angular structure of the building and lends it a more inviting aspect. Circle operates as a reference point and a piece of art, revealing the function and form of the architectural space for everyone to experience.
